After recovering from New Year's we woke up Wednesday morning and headed up to Chicago for more family fun. Mark took the week off, so we decided to spend some time together as a family. As we were driving out of our subdivision, we noticed a rainbow. It's hard to see the colors in this photo, but it was definitely a rainbow...or what we decided to call a "snow-bow." 1st stop on the day's adventure list was the Coco Key indoor water resort. We spent the morning and early afternoon hitting the slides, riding the lazy river, and watching the dive-in movies. Pizza for lunch in the Cabana gave us energy to hit the playhouse. One last soak in the hot tub warmed us up to move on to the next stop...our hotel in Glenview.
We intended to take in some sessions at the LDS temple, but found out that it was closed for maintenance. We dined on "Dragonfire Chicken" and "Cedar-Seared Salmon Pasta" at TGI Fridays and then headed back to the hotel for hours of fun with "Hanna Montana."
Day 2: After the happy wake up calls from Cami, we got up and got dressed and headed to the Museum of Science and Industry.
The museum was celebrating a festival of trees from around the world. Everything from Thailand to Canada. We tried to take a picture in front of the Canadian tree but it was too fuzzy (the picture.) The one on the left was a tree that reached almost to the top of the center of the dome. At one point "bubble" snowflakes began to fall.
We decided to finally tour the original U-505, watch the "Mummies" I-Max, and try out the simulator "snow races."

We were there on Thursday, Jan.3. It was really crazy then as well. A fun fun fun museum! Don't you just love Chicago?
What a beautiful tree!
We're hoping to put this tree in our house next year. All we need to do it either cut a hole in our roof or move in the museum. :-)
