Twas' the Day After Christmas

As our 2007 Christmas celebration comes to a close, a note of gratitude is needed. Thanks to our dear family and friends for their warmth and generosity. We desire to continue that spirit of Christmas throughout the year.
With that said, our Christmas began with the delighted gasps and giggles of three excited girls. Dreaming ever so peacefully, I was stirred from slumber's bliss. Sounds of cleanliness trickling from the shower head, gave indication that Mark equally shared the morning's excitement. Still in my PJ's (as is the case this morning...yes, I'm planning on updating my personal hygiene today), it was off to embrace our 2007 Christmas festivities.
Mark and I placed each girl's gifts in piles the night before, and with wide eyes quickly scanning the bounty, the girls formulated a plan of attack. A hidden blue bear ornament, found by Mary the quick(er), started the ripping rotation of the mysterious wrapped packages. The "oohs" and "awes" and "Is it my turn yet?" peppered the Christmas conversation until the last piece of wrapping paper fell still...the colossal waves of excitement now settling on the shores of play. The rest of the day was spent exploring their new treasures and me occasionally nibbling on a piece of Ghirardelli heaven. Our festivities continued with a video call with Mark's family (Hurrah for SKYPE!!) and a call from my sweet mother. Christmas dinner consisted of a beef roast with all the fixin's: Yorkshire pudding, corn, carrots, potatoes, egg nog, and homemade apple pie. The day wrapped up with a kind cookie drop off from a friend and sleepy family hugs. Then nestling soundly all snug in our beds, drifting off to the Christmas day visions in our heads. 2007 Christmas has gently drifted out of sight, Merry Christmas to all, and hoping we'll sleep well tonight.
